Here’s my Bar Mitzvah speech on language learning disabilities.
For my Bar Mitzvah project, I wanted to share what I’ve learned about Language Learning Disabilities and how Shefa is helping me suceed.
About Language Learning Disabilites
Language learning disabilities are about having problems with language. This is really about reading (dyslexia) and writing (dysgraphia).
How it Feels to Have a Language Learning Disability
It was really hard for me at my public middle school (WESS). All the other kids seemed to just “get it” and I didn’t.
How Shefa Helps With Language Learning Disabilities
Shefa provides me with the support and tools that I need to succeed!
Shefa: Language Learning Disabilities + Judisim
At Shefa we also learn lots about Judism, including Jewish Studies, Tefiliah, and Hebrew. We’re dyslexic kids learning Hebrew! Also, did you know that the bible is filled with people with learning disabilities?
Even Celebrities Have Problems with Language Learning Disabilities
Anne Bancroft was a famous actress. Without schools like Shefa, she needed to quit acting for a while to help her son with his dyslexia.
